Brevicidine TFA

Brevicidine TFA is an antimicrobial peptide that exhibits selective bactericidal activity against Gram-negative pathogens. It disrupts bacterial morphology by binding to lipopolysaccharides (LPS) on the bacterial cell membrane, forming pores. This compound leads to the dissipation of the proton motive force, damage to the outer membrane, inhibition of ATP biosynthesis, and accumulation of reactive oxygen species. As a sensitizing agent, Brevicidine TFA can enhance the effectiveness of various traditional antibiotics when used in combination.
